“I Will Not Say Goodbye” Becomes Powerful New Video and Single

Danny is poised to hit the radio airwaves with a new single, when this coming Monday marks the official radio impact date of his powerful recording, “I Will Not Say Goodbye.” The heartfelt ballad, with its compelling portrait of coping with the loss of a loved one, has been one of the most acclaimed tracks from Gokey’s debut album, My Best Days, while the poignant music video made its official premiere this past weekend as part of CMT’s Big New Music Weekend.
Amid the praise for the single, The New York Times declared “I Will Not Say Goodbye” as “devastating … the album’s best song,” while Music Row recently cheered the “soulful, soaring ballad,” adding, “The man sings the fire out of it.”
Songwriter Vicky McGehee, who wrote “I Will Not Say Goodbye” with Lari White and Chuck Cannon, said of Danny’s recording, “His voice is amazing, and when I heard ‘I Will Not Say Goodbye,’ it made me realize why I love writing so much. It’s like that song found its home.”
In addition to its debut this past weekend, the music video for “I Will Not Say Goodbye” was released this Tuesday as a digital download.

Well i can say this song tells just how i feel we lost twin grandboy 6 yrs ago and i don't want to forget i want to always remember them and it seems like it was yesterday but i know their in good hands now but i think about them everyday. i know u loved your wife bc most men wouldn't do what u have to keep your wifes memory going. i can say u are one good man keep up the good work

I just bought the cd a week ago. I thought it (the whole cd) was great, filled with messages of hope and love. I loved your voice from day one on American Idol (voted for you all the way!). I'm so excited your coming to Reno! I get to celebrate my birthday with seeing you in concert for the first time!! You are amazing keep up the great work!

Danny this song means the world to me. You see my mother took her life November,1994 and my daughter was brutally murdered December,1995 two days after her birthday plus from 1994-1995 I buried seven of my other relatives. It has been hard but I have faith in my GOD and he walked with me through all the tough times I had. But when I heard your beatiful song "I WILL NOT SAY GOODBYE'' I realized that is exactly how I feel and especially when I try to talk to my mother and daughter. I believe God is using you through your beatiful songs to help people deal with tragedy in their life, because you are special i realized that when you were on American Idol,I wasyour biggest fan then and I'm still your biggest fan.Keep up your wonderful songs because you are an inspiration to me. This song and video touches the real emotions we feel from losing someone. Everyone has a story and this song resonates. Nineteen years ago I had a miscarriage; I still remember her potential birthday. With every new song I hear from Danny, I become more of a fan and I haven't really liked country music much. Keep singing the truth and joy, Danny.

Thanks Danny for a Great Video! It gave me a good cry. I think about my niece I lost to Leukemia. My son being in the NAVY and what could happen to him and my brother being a police officer in Milwaukee. I really Love your music. I will see you at Summerfest! Can't wait to see you there!

I love this video this song and Danny. I have lost so many people I even have a Tattoo on my back of an Angel holding up a cross that says REST IN PEACE TO THOSE WHO"VE LEFT US. This tattoo symbolizesEveryone who has passed away from my family to Dannys wife to your family from my friends to your friends to th victims of 9-11 just everybody. RIP

WOW! This video is amazing, the stories are heartbreaking and inspiring and Danny is fantastic. I have never seen anyone sing with more passion and soul than Danny Gokey and his vocals are as Simon Cowell once said a "Vocal Masterclass".

I love Danny's video. I also love how the video honors our military and law enforcement. I Will Not Say Goodbye is a powerful song that show cases Danny's powerful vocals. Really happy for all the great reviews he has been receiving. I see this song taking Danny to the next level in his growing career. Great job by all those involved.

I watched Danny's new video on CMT Big New Music Weekend. What a powerful song and video. I absolutely love it. I Will Not Say Goodbye has been my favorite song on Danny's amazing debut (love all the songs) but after I watched the video , I love it even more. Yes, you need a kleenex to watch it but I find the video very comforting. We all have or will lose a loved one - it is a part of life and helping others who have gone through the same thing is very healing. Great Job Danny!! I hope the song is a big hit for you and they play it all the time on the radio.
